Average

Shouryam is yet another typical Gopichand style mass action entertainer. The film is a combination of his earlier films like Lakshyam, Ontari etc. Gopichand plays a honest police officer in the film. The film has all the action, big fights and killings that are no becoming the norm for all Gopichand films. The films runs on the brother sister sentiment.

Story:

Vijay (Gopichand) is the son of a small rowdysheeter. He and his younger sister Divya (Poonam Kaur) are orphaned after the death of their father. The people in the locality shun the kids as they are the children of a rowdy who harassed them.

The young Vijay is unable too feed her hungry sister and so allows her to be taken away by a father from a missionary as she is assured to three square meals a day. For this purpose, he tells the father that Divya is not her sister but is an orphan. As a result, Divya develops a hatred for her brother.

Gopichand grows up to become an ACP. He takes on the powerful villain Sivaram Goud and destroys his empire. Goud is now after Vijay. He learns that Vijay has a sister and so starts searching for her. Vijay is also searching for his sister for the past 15 years.

Vijay search takes him to Kolkata. He manages to trace his sister. She is a friend of Swetha (Anushka) and they are studying in the same college. Vijay also enrolls himself as a student in the same college. Swetha falls in love with Vijay.

The rest of the story is how Vijay manages to saves his sister from the hands of the villain.

Performance:

Gopichand once again plays the role of an angry young man who is a victim of fate and circumstances and is wronged by the villain. He plays and ACP and does an impressive job. He also gets a chance to show of his fighting skills by bashing up bad guys by the dozen.

Anushka sizzles once again with her chirpy role of a college girl who is madly in love with the hero. She has a couple of fast numbers with hero. However, her role is limited to dances and romancing the hero and it leaves little scope for her to perform.

Poonam Kaur as the sister of Gopichand is adequate in her role. Manoj K Jayan as the villain is quite convincing.

Ali's comedy is average. Krishna Bhagavan and Raghubabu manage to raise some laughs with their comedy. The rest of the star cast goes about their roles as per the demand of the script.

Mani Sarma's music is okay and the audio is already a big hit. The song Buggalloni has Anushka in her ravishing best. A couple of songs have been set to some fast beats and foot tapping music.

The film starts very slowly and moves at a snail's pace. There is very little happening in the first half. All the drama, action and big fights are in the second half.

The film is a typical Gopichand movie and will appeal largely to his fans and the college going students. Anushka is another added attraction.
