STARRING : Uday Kiran, Adithi Sharma, Ajay and others
MUSIC : MM Keeravani
DIRECTOR : Madan

RELEASE DATE : 12 September 2008

Average

Ghunde Jhallumandi is yet another love story set with a college backdrop. The only difference is that instead of the parents on either side opposing or raising the love of the hero and the heroine, it is the villain and a fictitious character turned real, Rajesh who put the spokes in the love affair of the lead actors.

Story:

Balaraju (Uday Kiran) is a villager. He comes to town to study B.A. as it is the minimum qualification for bagging the post of Sarpanch in his village. Neelima (Adithi Sharma) is also studying in the same college. She creates a fictitious character Rajesh and makes her classmates believe that she is in love with him.

There is a flashback to this. Neelima’s elder sister, who was brilliant in studies fell n love with a guy name Munna and that ruined her studies. So Neelima wants to avoid falling in love with anyone and also does not want anyone to propose love to her.

But inevitably Blaraju and Neelima are attracted to each other. But Neelima acts as if she is in love with Rajesh. In response, Balarju also boasts that he is in love with Lavanaya, a engineering student.

Finally they both realize that they are indeed in love. So they ‘kill’ the fictitious characters – Rajesh and Lavnya respectively. But what is a love story without some drama and suspense? So ‘Rajesh’ now enters the scene and he manages to create a rift between Balarau and Neelima.

What happens to the love of Balaraju and Nelima. What is the motive of Rajesh in creating an impression that he is the actual lover of Neelima. How does the confusion affect Balaraju and Neelima and how do they overcome it? Answers to all this can be found on the sliver screen.
Performance:
Uday Kiran has matured as an actor. He also gives a much matured and convincing performance. He also has a couple of good fights to flex his muscles and also show off his macho image. Adithi Sharma debuts in Tollywood with this film. Even though this is hr first film, she ha shown some ease before the camera. She will have to really work hard if she wants to make a career in Tollywood.

The rest of the star cast is just there to support the lead pair. Ahuthi Prasad, Surekha Vani, Ajay, Jayaparakash Reddy and others play largely guest roles.

Comedy by Venu Madhav is okay and he manages to raise some laughs with the ‘look at our nails’ comedy. The music is average. A couple of songs “Adhi Idhe Idhi Adhe” and the title songs have been filmed nicely.

The film’s target audience is the college going youth and the fate of the film now largely rests on their patronage.
